The Leigh Cemetery has served the parish of Leigh-on-Sea from its position on the London Road since Victorian times and contains the resting places of members of some of Leigh-on-Sea's most influential families. 

Sharing a border with West Leigh Infant School, Leigh-on-Sea Cemetery echoes with children's voices every day to give a counterpoint to the silence of the memorials to the great and the good.
